Our History

Knox County Abstract Company is a long-standing historic company that was purchased by James Decker in 2015. With roots to 1895, our records date to the sovereignty of the soil, when the State of Texas patented tracts of land to ranchers and homesteaders. Knox County Abstract Company was previously owned for almost 40 years by Bobby D. Burnett, longtime local attorney and businessman, now district judge for Knox and three other counties in the 50th District. Our offices are located on the 2nd floor of the Knox County Courthouse in Benjamin, a historic ranching town and county seat of Knox County.
